Advocates of sustainable, humane liberalism defuse real threats from the truly dangerous few through love and light, not through ignorance hatred, or violence. They confront and overcome the danger of violent action by the many by first acknowledging that the many (the people in the words of some) only act in violence if guided by the actions of a misinformed few, and second doing everything within their power to ensure that a critical majority of the many are healthy, wealthy, informed, intelligent, compassionate, and ethical enough to take care of themselves and of others, eliminating by default the need for anyone else to take responsibility, and hence power, in the name of the many.
