Democracy & True Liberalism

Advocates of sustainable, humane liberalism defuse real threats from the truly dangerous few through love and light, not through ignorance hatred, or violence. They confront and overcome the danger of violent action by “the many” by first acknowledging that “the many” (“the people” in the words of some) only act in violence if guided by the actions of a misinformed few, and second doing everything within their power to ensure that a critical majority of the many are healthy, wealthy, informed, intelligent, compassionate, and ethical enough to take care of themselves and of others, eliminating by default the need for anyone else to take responsibility, and hence power, in the name of the many.

Letter to the Leaders of Sudan and the United Nations

To the leaders of Sudan and representatives of all Governments represented at the United Nations: There are only two words that can explain any further hesitation or lack of action on behalf of every single leader who is in any position to stop the genocide in Sudan: Cowardice and Evil. How is it possible for any human being with the slightest degree of love, kindness or decency in his or her heart choose to stand by, or worse, to be so morally and spiritually corrupt as to deny the suffering and death of innocent human beings -- in particular of innocent women and children? Where are your hearts? Where is your soul? Do you not have children, parents, wives or friends? Do you not love or weep or feel sadness or fear?  Shame on the leaders of Sudan! Shame on the representatives of Sudan who lie through their teeth when all around the world we see the photographs and videos of starving children, shattered parents, mutilated corpses!
